Heard Back Home started with a feeling most people from Ireland know well – the quiet pull of 'back home', even when you’re far away.

It’s the phrases you still use without thinking.
The humour that only really works with your own crowd.
The way certain words, places, or habits can bring you back in an instant.

This brand isn’t about Irish nostalgia for its own sake. It’s about recognising that where you’re from stays with you – in how you speak, how you see the world, and how you carry yourself. We couldn't be prouder to be from Ireland, and we want the chance to share that - whether we're home for Christmas in Galway, or soaking up the sun in Sydney.

What started as a group of expats in Vancouver, Canada, has grown into a small team based across Australia, Canada, and Europe.

Why we make what we make

We design pieces that feel familiar, while trying to avoid the caricaturisation of Irishness. Don't get us wrong - we all love our Tayto crisps and Chicken Fillet Roll, but there's more to us than that, and it felt like most of what we were looking for in terms of Irish-inspired clothing leaned too heavily on stereotypes like these.

Some designs are subtle. Some are playful. Some only make sense if you get it. That’s intentional.

Heard Back Home is for:

• people on the way home

• people who never really left, even if they did

A shared language

You’ll see Gaeilge throughout our work – sometimes front and centre, sometimes just cúpla focal. You don’t need to be fluent. You don’t need to know the grammar. If it feels familiar, that’s enough.

The language matters because it carries memory, humour, warmth, and defiance all at once. It's important to us to do our part to keep it alive, and help it grow.

We focus on well-made basics with thoughtful design. No fuss. No gimmicks. Just pieces that earn their place in your wardrobe and get better the more they’re worn.

The name

'Heard Back Home' is exactly what it sounds like.

It might be something your mammy used to say, or an inside joke that instantly brings you back to secondary school. Heard Back Home is about collecting and sharing the phrases, designs, and focail that feel familiar – the small things that remind us of back home.
